The Los Angeles Angels released reliever Brian Stokes on Monday night and purchased the contract of catcher Hank Conger from Triple-A Salt Lake. The moves were announced after a 3-2 loss to Cleveland. Conger, the MVP of this year's All-Star Futures Game at Angel Stadium in July thanks to a three-run homer that helped the U.S.
